Possibly twitter is a useful medium for broadcasting information eg: http://twitter.com/FSBpress. I would say the beauty of many of computing’s innovations is that they can serve different functions for different groups.

I don’t think I say he shouldn’t use it. Indeed, I think better that that politicians get involved with thinks like Twitter as he does. I just don’t understand what he gets out of it if he just broadcasts. He’s missing out.

If you have to ask the question “Is it better to follow & ignore or not follow?”, then the answer is surely “you shouldn’t be on Twitter at all”. Cllr. Kitcat doesn’t appear to want to be part of any conversation, which is a shame, because the people of Brighton seem to have a collection of rather excellent conversations going on. If – as it seems – he finds Twitter is a chore, he should remember that it’s a voluntary pursuit, and give it up.
