Great post. I've been to quite a few protests -- pro-choice rallies at the state capital in Louisiana, anti-racism protests in New Orleans -- and I've never yet been part of a protest that turned violent. A protest that turns violent isn't a protest. It's a riot. Too many protests these days are just riots posing as protests. And riots don't help anybody. I agree! Great post.
