There was little evidence of a frenzy in Woolies on Western Road in Brighton. In fact, this afternoon it wasn’t any more busy than it is on a busy Saturday in the run up to Christmas anyway and there was still plenty of stuff up for grabs. I didn’t buy anything but some people were bagging armfuls of stuff. I couldn’t really work out what was reduced by what. I went for the nostalgia.
I felt sorry for the staff, watching the demise of their employer and people scavenging for a bargain. And most of them were wearing santa hats or reindeer antlers. Talk about adding insult to injury.
