Close to Firle, on the road toward Polegate is the charming village of Alciston and its pretty, but simple church in a beautiful setting. And very close to the fascinating tithe barn. The church was founded by Battle Abbey and served a monastic farm and it is has some 11 century features remaining alongside newer additions. The beamed ceiling is a joy.
